Look, I love the Dubs Update, I even came up with the name for it. However, I don’t appreciate the personal attacks that he seems to always just throw in their because he has nothing better to say. I’m all for the Dubs Update when he’s talking sports, because it’s really the only time we hear from him (he hasn’t written a blog in 21 days and counting). But when Dubs runs out of things to say, and then comes at me and my #DraftColbert movement, that’s where I have to draw the line. Why did I do it? Because I can. To be honest, that’s basically it. I did it because it was funny. Why can’t you find my name on any draft boards? I was a little confused myself, but Erika Ruiz, the NBA employee who runs the whole process confirmed the following:
A bit of a shame that websites like CBS Sports aren’t inclined to include my name on the lists. Nonetheless, I’m closer to being drafted by the NBA than Mr. Dressing-Up-For-A-Four-Minute-Video over there, suggesting that it was actually a sense of jealousy in those insults. I digress.
My next issue has to do with the title of this blog. My good friend Dubs was apparently so hell bent on making jabs at me, that he fabricated his own controversy just to shut it down:
I must say, I was a little taken aback. Maybe, just maybe Kelli thought it was funny and tweeted that out or something. At the same time, that tweet had Dubs written all over hit. So I took a page from Dubs and did a bit of hard hitting journalism, and after a bit of digging I found the truth.
No hesitation, no regret, no sense that he thought this was a bad look. News flash, this is an awful look. The dude is so hungry to make me look like a fool, he responded to his own tweet, thereby making him look like a fool. This is worse than using a burner account. The only thing worse would be if he forgot to login to the Colbert & Dubs and made that first tweet from his own account as well. It still looks bad though. I hope he snaps out of this soon and gets back to being the EVVY nominated personality I know and love. I can’t bare to watch him make a fool of himself any longer.
